Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 from February 27, 2010 to Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community which is situated on the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. People who aren't familiar with this name believe it is the West Island extends westward from Montreal. However this is not the case. West Island includes everything westward from Montreal, including the town of Lachine. Many times, it is credited as the birthplace of Amanda Brugel but while that may be true, her time in the city was brief. Brugel grew up in Courtice in the vicinity of Oshawa Ontario. The first goal she had was to be a professional dancer. However, the rapid growth of her body led to she literally outgrew the dancers she was with. In an article published by Toronto Star, she revealed that, in her heels, she stood 6 feet 1 inch tall. After I outgrew the male dancers, I quit. In Brugel's case, it was the advice of a drama teacher from her high school which inspired her to take up acting. The teacher encouraged her to take part in her school's production. She auditioned and eventually got the lead in Anne of Green Gables. She was given a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to study at York University's theatre Program which she completed in 2000 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Since then, she's appeared in 60+ productions both on big screens and smaller ones. Her most significant recognition when she landed her character of Rita of the acclaim-winning television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian participant in the season 1 of the series and not seen much.
