Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 from February 27, 2010 to Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community that is located on the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. This West Island, to those not familiar with it, is an extensive area that extends from Lachine all the way west. Amanda Brugel was born there and her time in the city wasn't long. Brugel was born in Courtice near Oshawa Ontario. Early ambitions were to be the best performer in the world, however, she was able to outgrow her dancers. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed that she was 6 foot 1 inch tall. Once I had outgrown my male friends, I quit. In Brugel's case, it was the encouragement of an instructor in drama from her high school that inspired her to take up acting. Her teacher suggested she audition for the role of Anne in the school's annual production. She threw herself into it and was eventually cast as the leading role in Anne of Green Gables. It was her turn to be awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program in 2000. She graduated from the program in 2000, earning a Bachelor in Fine Arts. For the last twenty years, Brugel's career has seen her appear in over 60 TV and film productions. Her most notable role was that of Rita (shown here) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian of the Season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast as well as appearing only on occasion, was the sole Canadian.
